The Web Smart Managed Gigabit Switch DGS-1210 supports numerous features that are normally only found in high-end switches. It guarantees maximum control, service and security, but without the complexity of an enterprise switch. Comprehensive security features in the network
The DGS-1210-16 is equipped with advanced security settings. The D-Link SafeGuard Engine is activated when large amounts of data overload the switch CPU due to a virus attack on individual network components. The Access Control List determines which users are allowed to use which services and files, and authenticates these users using the IEEE 802.1X standard. DHCP Server Screening*, for example, provides additional security - the switch recognizes the IP address of the client based on the DHCP request and the server's corresponding response, and automatically assigns this to the MAC address associated with the port.

High functionality thanks to bandwidth control and QoS
The switch impresses with sophisticated QoS functions for automatic prioritization of digital data packets. For optimal voice quality in VoIP applications, the voice VLAN support ensures that the voice traffic is automatically moved to a VLAN with the highest priority. The bandwidth control also enables the network administrator to limit bandwidths for subordinate devices.
In addition, the DGS-1210 is equipped with useful Layer 2 functions, including IGMP snooping, port mirroring and the LACP trunking protocol. Rapid Spanning Tree and Loopback Detection immediately detect redundant loops and automatically block the duplicate connection. Cable diagnostics allow network administrators to quickly determine and resolve the status and possible malfunctions of the copper cables.

Network management made easy
The Smart Switch offers small companies in particular cost-effective, simple management functions for the network: With the SmartConsole Utility, additional D-Link Smart Switches within the same Layer 2 segment are automatically detected. Basic configurations such as password changes and firmware upgrades are simplified and summarized by an understandable start setup. In addition to the web interface, the DGS-1210-16 supports management via TELNET basic CLI, SNMP and D-View 6.0, which are used for integrated monitoring and management of all critical network components.
