LAN clients can connect to the network via one of the 5 Gigabit ports or the wireless connection. It is designed to ensure a smooth wireless connection by supporting the 802.11ac wave2 standard and provides advanced features such as AirTime Fairness, Band Steering and AP-Assisted Roaming. EXPAND THE NETWORK WIRELESSLY The VigorAP 903 helps you to establish a wireless connection to every corner of the building. With a few clicks, they can automatically connect to each other to build a mesh topology and clients can access the network through any VigorAP 903. The meshing technology ensures redundancy and reliability in your network. In case of a connection loss, the VigorAP 903 dynamically reroutes the traffic to another path. SIMULTANEOUS DUAL-BAND & BAND STEERING VigorAP903 runs in 5GHz and 2.4GHz frequency bands simultaneously, allowing more simultaneous WiFi clients and benefiting from the high speed of 5GHz and the far-reaching signal of 2.4GHz simultaneously to meet the needs of different network applications. Supporting band steering helps you direct the 5G compatible stations to the less disruptive 5GHz WiFi, so that you can enjoy the faster WiFi speed and leave the 2.4GHZ WiFi less crowded. This results in a better WiFi experience for all clients. IMPROVING ROAMING BETWEEN APs VigorAP 903 provides "AP-Assisted Roaming" to ensure that the clients connect to the best AP in the WiFi. It continuously monitors the data rate and received signal strength of its clients to check if they are still within the effective broadcast range and would automatically dissociate those that are out of range. The VigorAP will share such information with the other VigorAPs of the same WLAN and you can set conditions such as not dissociating a client unless you know they are included in the coverage of another VigorAP. SECURE YOUR CORPORATE NETWORK With the VigorAP 903 you can use up to 8 SSIDs mapped to different (virtual) local networks and having different security settings. You can set one SSID for the visitors who only have Internet access and are currently secured by a pre-shared key and at the same time have another SSID for the employees who can access internal resources and require client authentication by username and password. The built-in RADIUS server function enables the VigorAP 903 to perform 802.1x authentication based on the local user database, which can also be used by other devices in the network, e.g. a router. EASY SETUP & MONITORING DrayTek has developed an app for setting up the mesh network with the VigorAP 903. The user-friendly interface enables quick setup even for non-technical people.
