Automatic multiple switch AMS The automatic multiple switch AMS is suitable for telephones or other terminal devices without a W wire that are to be connected via 2 wires via a and b. The W wire is not required for all connection and switching processes.

Depending on the type, two, three or four devices can be connected to the AMS. AMS 1/2 allows one connection line to be used by two telephones, AMS 1/4 allows one connection line to be used by three or four telephones. A call can be transferred to another telephone. When the AMS is idle, all telephones are connected in parallel to the connection line. When the connection is used by one device, the other devices are automatically blocked, which prevents unwanted listening.

The integrated quiescent current supply ensures that all connected devices are supplied with a low quiescent energy, even if a telephone is using the connection. This ensures that even the most modern, fully electronic devices with electronically switched hook switches work on the AMS.

Additional devices, such as answering machines, can be connected upstream or downstream of the connected telephones.
