The Evoluent Standard Right is a so-called vertical mouse. Vertical mice are held in a handshake position. In this position, the wrist bends less sideways and the forearm rotates less.

Using a more traditional mouse can cause pain and problems in the shoulders, forearms and hands. Thanks to the vertical grip of the Evouluent, you can work in a relaxed and comfortable position. The “handshake posture” of the hand when using a vertical mouse results in the wrist being bent less to the side and the forearm being turned less inward (Schmid et al., 2015). This results in less muscle activity in the forearm than when using a standard mouse (Quemelo & Vieira, 2013).

A study found that forearm, wrist and hand discomfort improved more quickly when using a vertical joystick mouse (Aarås et al., 2001).
