Direct connection to Active Ethernet fiber optic cables  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,
Fiber optic cables directly into the home (Fiber-to-the-Home / FTTH) are being increasingly expanded and thus more widely available as a high-throughput alternative to DSL lines. With the LANCOM SFP-AON-1 you can use the concentrated fiber optic Power and connect directly to an AON network (Active Optical Network) via your LANCOM gateway - thus saving you the need for a separate provider modem that would have to be laboriously wired and supplied with power.

Advantages
Reliable support of AON technology
AON technology is a future-proof solution for data transmission via fiber optics to the home (FTTH): An AON-based network architecture is characterized by flexible bandwidths and long ranges. The optical network with gigabit speeds is low-maintenance and low-cost due to its components and is therefore reliable and scalable. An upgrade to AON technology is therefore easily possible with the LANCOM SFP-AON-1.
Direct connection to AON FTTH networks without a separate provider modem
Whereas previously an additional fiber optic modem had to be connected between the fiber optic connection in the house and the router, the LANCOM SFP-AON-1 now takes over the necessary conversion of the incoming data signals. This eliminates the need for cabling and installation of the modem as well as the laying of an additional power supply.
Easy integration of the LANCOM SFP-AON-1
The uncomplicated connection of a LANCOM SFP-AON-1 module is made via the SFP ports of the LANCOM 1790EF, the LANCOM 19xx and 18xx series, the LANCOM ISG-8000, LANCOM ISG-5000, LANCOM ISG-4000, LANCOM ISG-1000 and LANCOM WLC-1000 as well as all LANCOM R&,S®,Unified Firewalls.
Note: To use the LANCOM SFP-AON-1, at least the LCOS versions LCOS 10.50 RU2 and LCOS FX 10.8 RU1 for the Unified Firewalls are required.
